Gourmet Burger Co. Review

By

 The Gourmet Burger Co.

With that name, comes great expectations. I decided to head on over to a new location that had just opened up near me in order to hopefully find a new burger joint.

Although the menu, which includes special burgers such as the aussie burger (burger with fried egg and pineapple) and many other original looking burgers, i decided to go with something familiar so that i would be able to have an idea what i was getting into.

Ah, the bacon burger.. hello old friend.

The first bite was suprisingly interesting, and the burger itself had an interesting taste.. oh wait, thats just because its fresh meat that hasnt been sitting in a freezer for days. The toppings (lettuce and tomato) were incredibly fresh, and on the menu it also claimed that they were grown locally.

Then i decided to order some of their beer battered onion rings.

The onion rings put this meal over the top, they were incredible. By far the best i have ever had. They had a very thick outter crust compared to the fast food onion rings where the onion is thicker then the batter, however these were the opposite. My only complaint about the onion rings was that they were a little too salty, however that was an easy fix with a bit of water.

Also, this had no effect on the taste of the burger, but i thought was an interesting thing to bring up, was that the packaging for the burgers is 100% recycled and recyclable.

At the end of the day, i went in with high expectations, and the meal met all of them.

Thank you GBC. See you on Monday.
